On Saturday, March 22, a mile-wide mudflow devastated Oso, Wash., 55 miles north of Seattle. The massive damage and mounting casualties have rocked the small community between Arlington and Darrington.

As Highway 530 Opens, Darrington Welcomes Visitors

SR 530 is reopening to alternating single-lane traffic May 31. Sections of the roadway was discovered missing during clearing work, so portions of the highway will be unpaved.
