Virginia Anderson

Committees: Development (Co-chair), Executive, Governance

Anderson has worked in the public, private and philanthropic sectors. Throughout her 40 year career, she has also served on many non-profit and corporate boards. Her career and volunteer activities have all been focused on building inclusive and diverse urban communities.

Now a strategic consultant and community volunteer, Anderson was Director of Seattle Center for 18 years where she led a major redevelopment of the former World’s Fair site and major expansion of public programming. Anderson also served as President of the Safeco Foundation and, earlier, Sr. VP for Cornerstone Development Co.

A Chicago native, Virginia is a Queen Anne resident, in love with this place between two mountain ranges and an ardent supporter of the arts in Seattle. From Latino USA to Q and Front Row Center to Diane Rehm, KUOW provides stories and information that expands her life.
