Lila Kitaeff
Program Producer, RadioActive Youth MediaYear started with KUOW: 2013
Lila co-manages RadioActive, KUOW’s youth radio program. She is a mentor and instructor for RadioActive's introductory workshop and oversees outreach and off-site programming.
Lila comes to KUOW after eight years teaching media literacy and filmmaking to young women at Reel Grrls. She has also worked as a youth media educator with Adobe Youth Voices, Native Lens, Reel Queer Youth and the World Affairs Council.
Lila is an award-winning video editor and has shown her work on the Documentary Channel and PBS, as well as at film festivals around the world. She has served on the board of Rain City Rock Camp for Girls and was a founding member of the Seattle Independent Media Center's video collective, where she co-produced a weekly television show and a quarterly video magazine. Lila has hosted a funk music show at KBCS 91.3FM for over a decade. She is a graduate of Macalester College, with degrees in Communications and Cultural Studies: Film and Media.
