The Boeing Company plans to give $1 million to support President-elect Donald Trump's inauguration events.
The announcement comes just days after Trump's tweets about Boeing. He claimed that costs for building new Air Force One jets are out of control, and that orders for the 747s should be canceled.
A Boeing official said the company's pledge of $1 million has nothing to do with Trump's controversial tweets.
Boeing is building a brand new 747 Air Force One for future presidents, but costs are out of control, more than $4 billion. Cancel order!

The official, speaking on background, said Boeing was already in touch with the inauguration committee before Trump tweeted about the Boeing 747.
A spokesperson said the company views its involvement in the inauguration as a way to support the country. Boeing also gave a million dollars to President Barack Obama's 2012 inauguration.
Trump, who has promised to take corporate interests out of Washington, D.C., is expected to accept millions of dollars from corporations for the inauguration.
