Five people were shot in downtown Seattle Wednesday night, with the shooter still at large late in the evening.
The shooting happened outside a convenience store at Third Avenue and Pine Street, near the site of an anti-Trump protest.
Crowds of people turned out across Seattle to protest against president elect Donald Trump. But Seattle Police Department spokesman Sean Whitcomb said the shooting was not related.
“This shooting is not connected to the demonstration at all. It was an argument and we do not believe that it was random,” Whitcomb said.
The shooting happened at about 6:45 p.m. One woman and four men were taken to Harborview Medical Center.
Two of the men were in critical condition, the other victims in serious condition according to a Harborview spokeswoman.
Their injuries range from leg to neck and chest wounds. The ages of the victims span from 20s to 50s.
SPD officials say at least one victim was likely a bystander who was uninvolved in the dispute.
Police did not give further details about the shooter or what the argument was about.
