It’s a boom on a grand scale bestowing wealth and opportunity upon some and disruption and displacement upon others. Take a look at where development is happening now and make sure to tell us what is going on in your own neighborhood.Follow the ongoing discussion at #regionofboomThis project is edited by Carol Smith.

Tell Us About A Change In Your Neighborhood

The Seattle area is changing so fast. Sometimes you blink, and a place you used to pass by every day has been demolished and replaced with something new.

We wanted to try a different way of telling the story of this region. We’re looking at places on a map, pieces of property or neighborhoods where we see change.

We’re visiting those places, talking to people about what’s being lost there and what’s being gained as the region changes and grows. And we’re finding that often, there’s a story there – a story of continuity, even amidst all the change.

You are an agent in this quest. We’ve started the "Region Of Boom" project with a few stories we knew about, but we want you to contribute to the conversation.

Tell us the places going through changes that you care about:  the places you’ll miss and also the places changing for the better.

For inspiration, you can explore the map below which has all the projects currently underway in Seattle, courtesy of Seattle in Progress. Click on the icons to see exactly what’s planned for that area, including detailed plans and photographs of the site. Then scroll to the form at the end to give us your feedback.

And don't forget to read the latest stories from this project!

See what's happening in your area, thenjump below to tell us your own impressions on our booming region. We may use your insight in a future story!
