KUOW Photo/Joshua McNichols

Seattle is a growing city. Roads have gotten more congested, trails more crowded and housing prices have been on a steady climb up.  So what brings people into the city, and once they are here, why do they stay?

The question of why we stay in a place that is not affordableis one Emily Badger answered, she is a reporter for the New York Times. Badger is based in San Fransisco, a city that has been struggling with affordability for decades. She explains to Ross Reynolds the challenges people face when deciding where to live.

Also, The Evergrey asked it's readers why they stay in Seattle. Co-founder and director Monica Guzman joins the show to tell us what they learned and answer listener's calls.
