The Civic Cocktail series brings political, business and community leaders to Seattle for a drink and a line of questioning from reporters and attendees. The most recent session featured Senator Patty Murray and former Washington Governor and U.S. Commerce Secretary Gary Locke.

Murray took questions on the First Amendment, Scott Pruitt, Betsy DeVos, the Trump Administration tax cuts, women running for office, homelessness, gun control and the prospects for presidential impeachment.

Locke spoke to issues surrounding the upcoming census, President Trump’s pending tariffs, our relationship with China and the North Korea situation.

The Seattle CityClub and Seattle Channel co-present Civic Cocktail at Palace Ballroom by Tom Douglas. This event took place on May 2. Senator Murray and former Governor Locke took questions from journalists Joni Balter, host Essex Porter, and Natalie Brand.
