How pretty you are in snow today, Seattle

There is almost nothing so special as a snowy day in Seattle. They are rare, about once every other year, and when they hit, the city shuts down.

As it did today, Monday, one to four inches of snow blanketed the city — and yes, that was the official term used, blanketed.

One to three more inches are expected through 4 p.m., according to the National Weather Service, which referred to the snowfall as a winter storm.

This was the latest advisory for the Seattle area:

"THIS WINTER STORM WARNING FOR HEAVY SNOW MEANS SIGNIFICANT SNOWFALL IS FORECAST THAT WILL MAKE TRAVEL HAZARDOUS. IF YOU MUST DRIVE ON SNOWY ROADS...KEEP SOME WARM CLOTHES...A FLASHLIGHT.. YOUR CELLPHONE...SNACKS AND WATER IN YOUR VEHICLE. AND ABOVE

ALL...SLOW DOWN."

Or enjoy the snow, and these photos from readers and listeners below, because how often does this happen anymore?
