On the night of November 8, 2016, many writers and journalists were preparing pieces on what it would mean for the United States to elect its first woman president. Those works obviously didn’t make it to print.
Writers Samhita Mukhopadhyay and Kate Harding took in that moment, then decided to create something from it. They curated an anthology of 23 essays titled “Nasty Women: Feminism, Resistance, and Revolution in Trump’s America.” Contributors include Rebecca Solnit, Cheryl Strayed, Samantha Irby, Nicole Chung and Katha Pollitt.
This “Nasty Women” book tour event was presented by Town Hall Seattle in partnership with NARAL Pro-Choice Washington at Seattle First Baptist Church on October 10. Mukhopadhyay and Harding joined Seattle writer Ijeoma Oluo in discussion about the book and what’s next for feminist activism.
