It sometimes seems as if author Barbara Ehrenreich has seen it all and done it all. From “Witches, Midwives, and Nurses: A History of Women Healers” to “Living with a Wild God: A Nonbeliever's Search for the Truth about Everything,” the scope of her writing has been vast.
Her latest book, “Natural Causes: An Epidemic of Wellness, the Certainty of Dying, and Our Illusion of Control,” hearkens to her early work as a cellular immunologist. The book explores how our bodies work and how we age age, as well as how our modern search for the good life is sometimes obsessively misdirected.
